              1. 1/7 Some of my thoughts on this #NFT craze. What we're seeing these days is the very early adopters trying to port old-reality concepts into a new-reality. Soon we'll start to see native concepts emerge.

/7 Meaningful ones, not just for vanity of bragging rights of holding them like luxury art items. But usages that bring actual value, like buying an item IRL. Those who weren't art collectors before NFTs won't suddenly start collecting art.

/7 I can totally see a space for rare items earned in in-game environments through loot boxes, raids, quests, etc. becoming "sellable" on *a* blockchain (not necessarily Ethereum only).

/7 Each player connects their wallet to the game (think World of Warcraft, Fortnite, Overwatch, League of Legends...). Suddenly I'm able to sell a rare item I earned during game. Real scarcity.

/7 And the item brings real value: user who has that NFT on their wallet gets to use it in-game, for real. Prices would have to be affordable and in tune with the reality of the "grind" of trying to get each item. Energy efficiency will have to be fixed.

/7 New solutions are available and more will be in the short term. For now, I won't discard completely the whole concept for the empty, fake-scarce, speculative usages seen these days. I expect the future to bring far more interesting usages of this technology.

/7 The key point to take away: usefulness, utility, meaningfulness, affordable. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk. What other useful use-cases can you think of?
